Why Argentina wants to ban Coca-Cola’s popular information site, Populates directly
Argentina has banned Coca-Colas popular information website Populates, which offers users a wealth of news, entertainment and news sources to choose from.
The company had been in Argentina since 2013.
The move comes amid an intensifying war of words between President Mauricio Macri and the country’s powerful opposition parties.
The ruling Communist Party, led by Macri, has accused the opposition of orchestrating the coup and is demanding that the government immediately hand over power to a coalition.
On Thursday, a court in the northern city of Quito sentenced six people to two years in prison for a series of anti-government protests that have brought hundreds of thousands to the streets.
The case marks the latest in a series involving the Communist Party and the opposition.
